2024-2025 Documentation of an ancient unsteamed Haida canoe in Kasaan's territory.  Supported by a team of expert volunteers, a matching grant from the Alaska State Historic Preservation Office via the National Park Service's National Maritime Heritage Grant, a John Gardener grant, and private donations.

Kasaan and friends joined together to make the 300+ mile journey in dugout canoes to Celebration in Juneau.

From tree to seafaring vessel, Stormy Hamar carved this canoe from a single log.

Working in Skagway with maritime documentation expert, Jason Rucker, to preserve the lines of a beautiful historic Haida canoe.
